Due to the growing incidence of arthritis, the disease is being studied a lot. Most doctors, when asked to prescribe a diet for arthritis feel that the best thing to do is to avoid all foods which seem to increase the discomfort and add to your diet foods that make you feel good. While that is quite a generic take on the diet for arthritis, there are some specific tips you can follow to alleviate your symptoms and increase the quality of life.

It has been seen that by drinking orange juice, the risk of developing arthritis is significantly reduced. Carotenoids have also been seen as nutrients that reduce the risk of many of the inflammatory forms of arthritis.
Eating healthy is always better for any form of disease and the same goes for arthritis too. Healthy eating is the basis of a healthy life. Therefore be sure to include a variety of food groups with inclusions from each food group. With that, also try to maintain your weight and avoid saturated fats and other foods high in cholesterol. Fiber and starch when taken in the right amounts can help keep your digestive system healthy and your body energized. Certain food materials like sugars, alcohol, sodium and tobacco should either be avoided or consumed only in moderation.
