How does chiropractic care help?
Chiropractic treatment is based upon the belief that there is restricted movement in the spine which results in pain and functioning of the spine is also affected. Spinal adjustment therapy, rather manipulation techniques involving the spine happens to be an approach adopted by chiropractors. This is used for treating restricted spinal mobility. The main purpose is to restore the movement of one’s spine and improve the functioning in order to reduce back pain.

During adjustment, chiropractors use their hands in order to apply controlled and sudden force to the joint, thus pushing it much beyond its normal range of motion. While doing this the movement may be cause a cracking or popping sound.

Chiropractors may also stretch or massage the muscles to relax them which are short or in spasm. Some prefer to use additional treatments such as electric muscle stimulation, ultrasound as well as exercises.
