Cleansing of skin is vital not only to remove dirt and oils from your skin pores, but also to keep it well-hydrated, if you have dry skin, or to maintain proper oil balance in case you have excessively oily skin. To grow into a healthy skin and make your healthy skin last longer, needs constant attention and care apart from nutritious diet. You need to cleanse your skin both in the morning as well as at night and your regular skin care regime must also suit your skin type and lifestyle. You may also have to consider changing cleansers according to change in weather so as to make your skin appear ‘the best’.
Following are some of the tips that you can use for proper cleansing and taking care of your skin:
- If you have oily skin and spend a lot of time outdoors, the chance is that you are exposed to dirts and pollution. You must use an oil-free soap to wash your skin atleast 3 times a day.
- Incase you have dry skin use oil-based cleanser that can arrest moisture into your skin Also avoid using hot water for washing your skin.
- Those of you who have combination skin should use a cleansing gel. This type of combination skin suffers from oily skin around the T-zone (forehead, mouth, nose and chin) and dry to normal around the cheeks.
- Mature skin generally has a tendency towards dryness. It requires cleansing with rich cleansing cream to get proper nourishment and moisture.
- In summer when you are experiencing hot and humid climate and you have oily skin, you need to cleanse your skin more often than usual. A gentle oil-free soap alone may not have that desired cleansing effect to control increased oil secretion. You may also need to use astringent along with a good exfoliate every alternate nights to cleanse your skin thoroughly.
- Whereas in winter when the weather is dry, a gentle skin cleanser may hydrate your skin and keep your skin supple.
- For extra deep cleansing of skin, use a peel, a scrub and exfoliate once or twice a week as suggested by your specialist. Select fine grained exfoliates to gently clean your skin instead of exfoliates which have larger particles. If you skin is sensitive, large particles may cause skin irritation.
Way to Use Your Cleanser:
Skin is a very sensitive part of your body. You must take care not to drag or pull it. Before using your cleaner, clean your hands with good all-natural soap. With a soft, clean cotton towel dampened in warm water (no hot water), wipe all over your face to remove dirt and moistening the skin. Take cleanser on your palm and rub both palms circularly. When a foam is formed (even less foam will do), with gentle upward and outward motion, apply cleanser on your face. Keep it for few minutes. Use a soft cotton wool or tissue paper to gently wipe out dirt and make-up. With a damp cotton ball gently mop your face and finally rinse it with water.
Thus taking proper care of your skin involves regular cleansing followed by moisturizing and toning. If you follow this regime, you can keep your skin clean and clear, properly moisturized and nourished. In short, you can have soft, supple, glowing skin!
