10 alarming Effects of an Unhealthy Diet

Diet plays an important role in maintaining good health. If one eats properly, then his or her chances of succumbing to various diseases are less. Proper diet coupled with regular exercise can keep a person healthy.

In present days, most people are diet conscious. Women in particular like to maintain their figures and they would like to eat a diet that does not contain much fat. Even men like to maintain their body shape and eat carefully and also exercise.

A diet comprising of essential nutrients such as vitamins and minerals is proper. Green leafy vegetables are very good for health. In fact, a diet consisting of plenty of fruits and vegetables apart from meat and dairy products is good for health.

The question that arises is what foods should be avoided as they would mean an unhealthy diet? Foods high in carbohydrates and fatty may not be good for those who are obese. Similarly, junk food is very unhealthy to take. Home made cooked food is good for health. Drinking fruit juices is better than aerated drinks.

Effects of unhealthy diet

  • Obesity. This health condition can cause Type 2 diabetes, kidney failure, circulatory problems, heart diseases etc.
  • One is disease prone.
  • Weakness.
  • Malnutrition.
  • Irritability on account of weakness and lack of concentration at workplace.
  • Emaciated look in case weight levels falls. One can look unattractive.
  • Resistance levels come down.
  • Mental faculties can get affected.
  • Excessive weight loss due to improper diet.
  • Giddiness if one is not getting proper nutrition.

One must eat well and properly in order to maintain good health, both physical as well as mental. Good nutrition helps us to fight many diseases.
