- The patient must fast for about 2 or 3 days or perhaps even more. Much would depend upon the severity of the condition. The patient must take only warm water during this fasting period. This will give much relief to the stomach and the toxic elements causing the inflammation will subside.
- All-fruit diet- Once the acute symptoms of gastritis subside, one must take an all fruit diet for about 3 days. He or she must take juice fruits such as oranges, grapes, grapefruit, pears, apples, peaches, pineapple, and melon.
- Alcohol, spices, strong coffee and tea, spices, meat and sweets should be avoided. The patient should also avoid rich foods such as sweets, pastries as well as aerated water.
- One must have curd or cottage cheese.
- Different types of foods must not be mixed together.
- One must take a diet that is well-balanced.
- One must take meals at regular hours.
- Eating frequently or rather too often can cause acidity.
- Dairy products and milks must be taken in 3 servings per day or perhaps less. Give preference to low fat or fat-free foods as far as possible. This will control the production.
