  • Remaining indoors for a long time.

According to experts there is a link between decrease in sunlight during winter as well as during fall season and a chemical imbalance in the brain. During winter and fall season, day light is less or sometimes even non-existent and less light passes through the eyes, which prevents the release of an essential chemical known as serotonin. In case serotonin is not released in adequate quantity, then one experiences depression. Melatanin is another chemical which is also affected by insufficient sunlight.

  1. Cabin fever is very common these days with nuclear families being the practice. We in India were used to live in large joint families. Most of the times there where lots of people around us. With nuclear families now its me my wife and my son. We even do not know our neighbour. It is same day, night and then again same day. It is some times very frightening to be alone or not with your loved ones.
