Home Remedies for Spider Bites
Spiders appear to be harmless, but their bite can cause much discomfort and pain. In fact, it can be lethal also. It is advisable to take required action after a spider bite. Home remedies are available for Spider Bites but they might not help much. One should consult a doctor without fail and as soon as possible.
Spiders do bite humans at times. They are otherwise considered to be harmless. The symptoms of their bites can be in the form of systemic toxicity, necrotic wounds, and in some cases death. The main concern is the venom of the spider bite. The venom is toxic to humans, which be passed on through a single bite.
Home remedies for Spider Bites
- A cream, which has 5% tea tree oil helps in healing insect bites, cuts and sunburn, rashes, cuts, and other skin irritations.
- Ginkgo biloba helps in relieving muscle pains and also spider bite.
- A mixture of crushed charcoal tablets as well as a mixture of lobelia is useful in treating insect bites as well as wounds.
- Yellow dock helps in purifying the blood and also helps many problems which affect the skin. Drink plenty of yellow dock tea till the symptoms die down.
- One can use some of the essential oils such as cinnamon, basil, lemon, lavender, sage, thyme and savory for their anti-venomous and antitoxic elements. Apply some essential oil on the bite.
- One can make a paste of unripe and dried mango- peel water and powder as well as water. Apply it on the affected part.
- Use a hot water bottle for reliving pain caused by black spider widow’s bite.
- One can apply a garlic and onion piece on the bite. Both onion and garlic contain substances which provide relief to the body from any kind of pain.
Other Remedies
- Wash the wound and disinfect it with an anti-septic or soap and water.
- Neutralize the poison by moistening the bite with water and rubbing it with an aspirin.
- Place an ice-pack to slow down the absorption of the venom.
- Consult the doctor immediately.
In case a black spider widow bites:
- Wash the spot with soap and water.
- Raise the level of the body part of the bitten area in order to prevent the spreading of the venom.
- Tie a bandage over the spider bite to prevent the venom from spreading into the body. The blood flow should not get affected by the bandage.
- Contact the doctor at once.
