Home Remedies for Eczema

Eczema, which is also known as atopic dermatitis happens to be a skin condition that normally appears in infancy and at intervals in adulthood. The skin becomes dry, pink and itchy.   • Apply the mixed contents of 1 teaspoon of camphor and a teaspoonful of sandalwood paste on the rashes.
  • Apply paste of nutmeg on affected parts.
  • Put natural Vitamin E on the affected part. It provides relief from itching.
  • Zinc taken orally as well as applied directly on the affected area can prove to be very effective.
  • Blueberry leaves bring down the inflammation.
  • Shark cartilage reduces inflammation.
  • Peel some mango skin and make a pulp of it and let it cool. Apply the paste on the affected area for 10-15 days.
  • One can also apply the musk juice extract over the wound. It will cure eczema.
  • One can also make use of strawberry paste. Make some paste of 3-4 strawberries and apply it on the affected area. Eczema will get cured
  • Fresh fruit or vegetable juice can also be applied.
  • Make use of pine tar soap to clean the skin affected by eczema.
  • One should drink tomato juice daily. It will control the symptoms.
  • Allergy causes eczema, so avoid foods that cause allergy. Food items such as eggs, preservatives, nuts and citrus fruits can cause eczema.
  • Reduce the intake of food items such as onion, lady’s fingers and ginger, which contain a lot of mineral.
  • Take certain oils and spices in moderation.
  • Avoid fruits such as papaya, watermelons and oranges.
  • Do take certain salad vegetables such as cucumber and radishes.
  • Restrict cold drinks and ice creams.
  • Nuts are not good for eczema, particularly cashew nuts.
  • Avoid detergents and soaps. Use fragrant soaps made of herbal products.
  • Make use of warm water for a bath, not cold or hot water.
  • Avoid using a rough towel for keeping the skin dry. Use a “soft fiber towel” and pat dry.
  • The house must be dust free and very clean.
  • Steam bath and sunbath help in the treatment of eczema.

  1. i suffer from Eczema and what i do is just take as much vitamins A, C and E supplements plus some topical corticosteroid to remedy the itch.

  2. I take fish oil supplements or fish oil on a regular basis. It doesnt cure it but it seems to keep it under control.
