We can say that morning sickness is nature’s own way of detoxifying the system so as to prepare the body for pregnancy.

There are various home remedies for treating morning sickness. Listed below are some effective natural cures for morning sickness –

  • Wheat Germ: Wheat germ is considered as the ‘powerhouse of nutrients’ and is an excellent source of folic acid (vitamin B) and magnesium. Besides playing a vital role in prenatal development of a baby, folic acid can treat nausea and depression. One can dissolve 2 tablespoons of wheat germ in a glass of warm milk and drink it every few hours
  • Ginger Tea: It is suggested that drinking ginger tea early in the morning can lessen severity of morning sickness
  • Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey: It is suggested that the concoction of apple cider vinegar and honey can help in calming a queasy stomach. For this, you can mix a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of honey in cold water. You might drink the liquid before going to bed to treat morning sickness
  • Plenty of Water: Experts suggest that drinking 8-10 glasses of water regularly can neutralize stomach acids and prevent constipation. Water can also replace fluid loss due to vomiting
  • Mini-Meals: Experts suggest that taking 5-6 small meals a day can control hunger pangs, keep your blood pressure and acidity in check. In an empty stomach, acids have nothing to feed and fill up your stomach. Acidity and low blood pressure can cause morning sickness
  • Liquid Diet: It is believed that when morning sickness is at its worse, frequent liquid diet can be easier on the stomach. This might help in reducing morning sickness
  • Complex Carbohydrates: It is suggested that complex carbohydrates such as potatoes, apple, pasta, etc are easy to digest. One can take carbohydrate-rich food such as cracker or biscuits before getting up in the morning
  • Fresh Air: Getting fresh air by spending sometimes outdoor can help in elevating mood and relieving nausea
