1. Know the reason and treat the cause!

You have to identify the root cause before you start the treatment. There are incidences where a lack of zinc, iron, and other vital nutrients pave the way to hair loss. Along with the supplements the doctor prescribes, try to include a diet rich in these nutrients. Legumes, dark leafy greens, peas, curd, whole grains, nuts, oranges are some of the few sources of these essential nutrients. While you might get little results, incorporating these foods into your diet will help slow the pace of hair loss.

2. Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds are rich in fiber and fatty acids that help prevent hair loss and promote growth. Soak a quarter cup of fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Grind it into a smooth paste with very little water and apply it on an oiled scalp. Leave the mask for 60 to 90 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. Repeat the mask twice a week for noticeable changes.

3. Egg whites with Banana

While egg whites contain protein, Bananas contain tryptophan, two essential ingredients that prevent hair loss. Both the ingredients also trap in the moisture, promoting the growth of new hair. Blend one egg white with one ripe Banana and one tablespoon olive oil. Apply it on the scalp and hair and rinse off with cool water after half an hour.

4. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is one of the best natural remedies for hair growth. Lauric acid in coconut oil prevents hair loss, paving the way for longer, stronger hair. It has antioxidant and antibacterial properties that help eliminate free radicals and infections, keeping your hair strong and healthy. Warm a little coconut oil and massage it on your scalp before bedtime. Rinse off the extra oil using a mild shampoo the following day, if necessary.

5. Indian Gooseberry with Sesame Oil

Amla or Indian Gooseberry contains a good dose of vitamin C, the powerful antioxidant that eliminates hairfall induced by free radicals. Sesame oil is a natural moisturizer that traps essential hydration, promoting hair growth. Boil sesame oil with powdered Indian gooseberry and use it regularly as your hair oil to minimize postpartum hair fall.

6. Yogurt

Yogurt can be used alone or with egg white as a hair mask to arrest hair fall while improving hair growth. It is a natural conditioner rich with proteins that keep your hair longer, stronger, and thicker. Beat the yogurt well and apply it to your scalp. Wait for 10 minutes before washing off. You can also beat yogurt with egg white and olive oil and use it as a mask once weekly to see noticeable changes.

7. Aloe

Aloe contains various ingredients that are good for hair growth. The alkaline properties of aloe help in restoring the natural pH of the scalp, thereby preventing hair fall. It also eases the inflammation and itching, ensuring your hair grows lusciously. Mix aloe gel on the scalp and wash off with lukewarm water after 2 to 3 hours. You can use aloe thrice or four times weekly to see results quickly. Aloe can also be mixed with olive oil and used as a pack.

8. Beets

Beets are rich in iron, one of the vital ingredients for easing hair loss and promoting growth. Include a glass of beet juice in your diet to promote hair growth from within. You can use beet leaves and henna leaves to condition and prevent hair fall. Boil a handful of beet leaves and grind them with henna to make a smooth paste. Apply on the oiled scalp and wash off after 20 minutes. You can do this multiple times a week to see quicker results.

9. Vitamin E

A diet rich in vitamin E helps to combat the free radicals from within, thereby increasing the circulation of the scalp. The antioxidant-rich oil can be massaged into the scalp before bedtime. Wash off using a mild shampoo. It can also be used in your egg or beet mask for more efficient results.

Along with these natural remedies, catching up with a good dose of sleep and rest is essential. Keeping stress away is also the key to diminishing hair fall after delivery.

So take care and stay safe!
