The Hcg diet aids prevention of loss of muscle as one reduces the calorie intake. It is more of an appetite suppressant. Our intake is reduced and as a result, we eat less and calorie level comes down. We in the process lose the stored excessive fat.

Initially, one may feel a bit hungry as the intake has been reduced. But gradually, one’s stomach gets adjusted to the lesser intake. This is because the calories are released from the stored fat, and therefore one loses the excessive weight.

The Hcg diet consists of regular intake of hormone HCG along with a 500 calorie diet. The 500 calories are required because our body is already using up 2000 calories received from the fats already stored up in one’s body. These fats are converted into energy.

As one is on an Hcg diet, then one has to take certain foods and avoid certain types of them in order to maintain the required energy as well as nutritional levels. The body has to retain normal functioning after burning off the fat.

Dr. Simeons has suggested a particular diet after he carried out extensive research on the hormone.

Breakfast – One must have only black coffee and of course a certain type of tea. Organic teas are preferred such as Wu Lang tea, green tea, chamomile tea which is organic as well as Yerba Mate tea. One can have as much tea or coffee as long as something else is not added to it. These beverages must be made of pure water rather than tap water.

Lunch and Dinner – One must have certain proteins and lunch as well as for dinner. These are fed beef that is organic or veal, skinless chicken breast which happens to be organic. Different types of fish are also there which one can take, which happens to be low in mercury.

One can also have spinach, cucumber, tomatoes, cabbage as well as celery. One must have only one type of vegetable during the meal. Do not add any oil or even fats while cooking the vegetables. Along with the vegetables, one can have a small fruit such as an apple or a grapefruit. One must boil or grill them or even steam them. One can also have a cup of organic strawberries.

One must avoid having the same meal for lunch as well as dinner the same day. For example, in case one has halibut or spinach for lunch, then one has to pick up a different type of protein source for dinner.

In case, one is hungry during the day, then one can have as much tea or coffee as one would like to have. One can also drink plenty of water as well.

No doubt, the Hcg diet plan is not all that relishing, but one is on such diet for about 21 to about 26 days of the diet period. After that one’s metabolism rate becomes normal and then one can have as much as one wants. One must, of course, eat organic foods and avoid processed foods.

What foods can one take?
One must not eat breakfast. One can have coffee or tea without sugar. Milk in the beverage must be about 1 tablespoonful. One can use Stevia or Saccharin.

Lunch can consist of veal or beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, shrimp or crab. One must remove all fat while cooking the meat. It is better to grill or boil the meat.
