    One is often fed up with roaches around the house. Who likes these insects hanging around near food joints, in the refrigerator, near the waste- paper basket and kitchen appliances? Even your food items get infected by them. below are some of the natural ways to get rid of roaches.

    To ensure a clean and neat house, one has to get rid of roaches. One can go in for home remedy to do away with them. Here are a few natural ways for roaches that one could try out:

    Some of the top home remedies to get rid of roaches are as mentioned below:

    • Keep the house spic and span. There should not be any food lying around. Roaches hang around places, where there is left-over food. Floors and containers must be clean. Try to store food in containers and sealed boxes. Wipe any spills. The oven and the refrigerator must be clean. These natural ways are very effective in getting rid of roaches.
    • One can let loose a gecko ( a type of lizard) around the house. It eats up all the roaches. Some, of course, may not like this option.
    • A simple, less toxic and cheap way of dealing with roaches is to mix equal parts of baking soda and sugar. Roaches eat up the sugar and the baking soda upsets their stomach, eventually killing them. Not much amount is required. One has to place the dabs around appliances, closets, near the wastepaper basket etc.
    • One can make use of Diatomaceous Earth (DE). It is not toxic and is odorless. The pests dehydrate, resulting in their death within hours. One of the best natural ways to get rid of roaches.
    • Bay laurel leaves can also help killing the roaches. They are available at any grocery store.
    • Also seek the help of your neighbors, Their houses may be also infected with roaches. It is better to carry out the job of getting rid of roaches on the same day.
    • Place some plastic lids or aluminum foil in specific areas such as cabinets etc. Place a cracker on it and make it soggy by pouring water. Place some boric acid on it and place the cracker in strategic areas. The roaches will eat the crackers. Their feet will also get infected with boric acid. As they will run back to their nest, the roaches in the nest will get killed.
    • Cedarcide can also be sprinkled at the perimeter of your house. This also can get rid of roaches.
    • One can go in for the roach ball recipe: Mix a cup of borax,1/4cup of granulated sugar, ¼ cup of chopped onion, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1 tablespoon water. Make balls out of them and place them in a small sandwich – sized bag. Place these bags in places where there are roaches. The roaches will eat them and carry them away. They eventually die. Other roaches eat their dead bodies and die too!
    • Margosa oil spray can also get rid of roaches. Very effective natural way to get rid of roaches and other pests.

    Make sure that your house is free from roaches. Entertaining guests is difficult when there are roaches around. A home remedy that suits your convenience and purse can get rid of them.
