Top 15 Effective Home Remedies for Swine Flu

Swine flu is in the air now. Several patients are dying on account of it. People keep a tab on HINI to know what it is all about and how it is affecting them. In many developing countries, there is lack of proper infrastructure to deal with the problem.

As of now most people are going in for the conventional treatment procedures. Many are flouting masks on their face to avoid any kind of contamination with swine flu. One can also go in for simple treatment at home by making use of some these home remedies.

Home remedies for swine flu
Below are some of the top home remedies for swine flu for cure and prevention that could be taken along with conventional medicine for faster recovery from this killer disease:

  1. One can take washed Tulsi leaves( popularly known as Basil) on a daily basis in the morning. The leaves contain therapeutic elements. It keeps the lungs as well as the throat clear and helps in the clearing of infections.
  2. The Giloi is available in many areas. Get hold of a 1 foot long branch of the giloi along with 5 to about 6 Tulsi leaves and boil them for about 15 to 20 minutes, long enough for the water to be able to extract their properties. Add some sendha ( salt used for religious purposes) black or rock salt and black pepper. Add Misri ( crystallized sugar) for taste. Let it cool down and drink this (concoction) when it is still warm. It will be useful for immunity. In case giloi is not available, then one can get hold of processed giloi powder.
  3. One can take about 2 pods of raw garlic to start with in the morning. One can swallow it with warm water. Garlic also strengthens one’s immunity.
  4. Take a small piece of camphor, which is of the size of a tablet once or twice a month. Adults can take it with water, but children can have it with mashed potatoes or bananas, as they would find it a bit difficult to take because of the taste.
  5. One can take a glass of lukewarm or hot milk in case one is not allergic to it on a daily basis at night. Add some turmeric to it.
  6. One take a teaspoonful of gel of Aleo Vera on a daily basis. It helps in building immunity.
  7. Pranayama is good (deep breathing) and going for a jog or walk in the morning. This would help one keep away from any infections of the throat, nose or lungs and also keep one fit.
  8. One can take homeopathic medicines.
  9. Have citrus fruits, those particularly which are rich in Vitamin C.
  10. Wash one’s hands with some warm water for 15 to 20 minutes daily before meals or touching a surface which could perhaps be contaminated with swine flu virus.
  11. Steam inhalation with chamomile or eucalyptus helps three times in day for congested lungs This can reduce symptoms of swine flu.
  12. One can take tea made of lemon balm. One can have it 2 times daily.
  13. One can cover one’s nose as well mouth with a mask.
  14. Have home cooked food to build up body resistance.
  15. Avoid visiting crowded places, as one may across those infected with swine flu virus.

Swine flu can cause much discomfort and also be fatal in some cases. One can deal with it with home remedies also apart from conventional treatment.
